General Summary: The Material Handler, Parts Services position is responsible for inbound and outbound goods (dock to stock and/or Pick, Pack, ship) movement using our inventory system. Activities will include Dangerous goods (HAZMAT), Exporting and Pick-up & delivery using company vehicle.Documentation will include but is not limited to vendor certifications, vendor reports, FAA & Honda airworthiness documents, dangerous goods documents, import/export compliance documents, and Electronic Export Information (EEI / ACE) requirements.*This is a Contingent position with our company (1-year or longer)*Duties and Responsibilities:Adhere to general work requirements, maintaining a safe work environmentAssist in the loading/unloading of shipmentsVisually check all incoming parts for any possible damageVerify and reconcile accompanying documents with actual material part number, quantities, batch/lot number and serial number; receive into ERP systemStock material in proper location(s) for further distributionPull material from inventory per demand requirements, ensuring complete fulfillment accuracyPrepare orders and package items for shipment in appropriate manner, complying with requirements and regulations for standard shipment; including HAZMAT, and/or ExportPerform accurate daily bin maintenance/cycle countingMaintain document filling system adhering to company retention policy Education, Work Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:High School diploma or equivalent is requiredPrevious hazardous material handling and shipping experience is preferred.Previous International Shipping experience preferred.Valid state issued driver’s license. Set-up profile, skills mapping, and ALTEN resume for each consultant. Provide updated and relevant guidance to business managers in consultant matters. Support business managers with planning, coordination, facilitating, and subsequent documentation of performance/career reviews, employee surveys, and salary adjustments. Onboarding responsibilities - work closely with business managers, time & expense team, and ALTEN HR to ensure a seamless onboarding experience for all new consultants. This includes providing relevant welcome and onboarding information. Function as an extra, dedicated point-of-contact for consultants in addition to their business manager. Partner with the business, give support, and be the responsible point-of-contact for topics related to talent development (training), work environment, and other needs. Act as the first point-of-contact for employees to provide functional support to resolve administrative cases/queries. Travel to customer sites to conduct face-to-face visits with assigned consultants. This is conducted with the business manager also in attendance. Number of trips is 2 - 4 per quarter and each trip averages to 2 - 3 nights away from home.Skills and qualification requiredBachelor’s degree in human resources or comparable field2+ years of experience in a Human Resources roleThe ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Being able to multi-task is a must-have skill. The ability to continually interact and establish professional relationships with consultants who are engineering-degreed and highly competent at their jobs. The understanding that we work in a changing environment and having the ability to readily adapt to change. Someone who is personable, engaging, and who can be seen by their group of consultants as their advocate. The "good" discussions are easy and enjoyable, but this individual also needs to have experience in the "difficult” discussions, such as, performance improvement, missed deadlines, and terminations. Strong oral and written skills - with many assigned consultants, documenting discussions is key as business managers and others at ALTEN will make inquiries of you in order to continually grow the client relationship and address concerns that you will uncover. The ability to travel as outlined above in the position duties. Someone who has worked with consultants previously and understands the consultant lifestyle. Someone who is versed in standard HR principles. Someone who is pro-active, engaging, and has the openness to learn. Someone who interacts with individuals and groups well. Someone who is willing to share ideas, provide feedback, and wants to assist in growing a department. This individual does not need to have an engineering background as this position is more focused on providing HR and administrative support.
