Demonstrates correct and adequate anatomic positioning skills. · Follows all physician orders and order requisitions. Consults with a radiologist and/or other physicians regarding examinations as necessary. Assists Radiologists with special procedures (i.e., biopsy's, abscess drainage procedures), practices the sterile technique, and prevents cross-contamination to patients and instruments. · Assumes charge position as required in the absence of supervisory personnel. · Provides radiation protection to patients, staff, and self, according to prescribed safety standards. · Restocks and maintains assigned workstations/equipment in an orderly fashion. · Recognizes emergency situations, initiates code procedures, and administers first aid/CPR as needed. · Retrieves and loads images and resolves "exceptions" in the PACS system.
